This menu contains the basic file options for creating, opening and saving PEN3D projects and data files. In addition to this the File menu also contains the options for Importing data and for changing project preferences.
Some of the options have corresponding tools in the Toolbars, and several already have keyboard shortcuts assigned to them.

New: |
Create a new data file. |

Open: |
Open a Option Select dialog prior to opening an existing data file. |
Close: |
Close the current data file. Requests a file save if changes to file. |
|
|
Save: |
Saves the data file to the current file name. |
Save as: |
Save the data file under a different name. |
|
Import: |
Import PEN, AutoCAD DXF and Moss format data files |
|
|
Print: |
Output the current screen directly to the selected print device |
Print Setup: |
Select and configure the print device |
|
Startup Screen: |
Displays project information on first running PEN3D |
|
Preferences: |
Select new projects, reselect older project, point the program to preferred directories for data, maps and output, select color of zoom screen and number of undo levels. |

Exit: |
Closes the program |
